Characterization of post-sinusoidal vascular disorder and non-cirrhotic portal vein thrombosis
Title
Objective
Phenotypical expressions of a common pathological background rather than separate entities, in which primary endothelial dysfunction likely represents the common original hit driving the whole spectrum of possible manifestations. The main objective of this project is to compare liver tissue samples of patients with PSVD and idiopathic PVT by applying scRNAseq, which will identify the cell types differentially represented in each condition and their subsequent zonal localization in the liver.
A group of liver tissue samples from healthy individuals (liver transplant donors) will be added to the comparison to assess the specificity of the obtained results. Therefore, the main aim will be to: 1. Characterize PSVD, idiopathic PVT and control livers at single-cell level 1.1 Obtain a liver biopsy from patients with PSVD, idiopathic PVT and control livers to be used for scRNAseq analysis 1.2 Analyze scRNAseq data to define different cell types present in the liver and compare their proportions between groups.
