About me

During the past 15 years I focused on developing novel therapies for the treatment of cancer. I first designed an oncolytic virus able to degrade the extracellular matrix of solid tumors, that is now under clinical investigation. In 2010, I moved to the University of Pennsylvania to develop novel chimeric antigen receptor-modified T cells (CAR-T) for the treatment cancer. My current research is focused on understanding the obstacles that lead to treatment failure and developing strategies to overcome these hurdles, with the ultimate goal of moving CAR-T cells for solid tumors into the clinic.
