    The Institute of Cancer and Blood Diseases is the service area of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona dedicated to haematological and oncological diseases.
  • Medical Oncology

    The Medical Oncology Service forms part of the Institute of Hematological and Oncological Diseases of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.

    It is a service in the process of expansion and modernization. Its strategic goal is to focus on innovative management of and comprehensive care for cancer patients, from diagnosis to cure or end of life.

    This comprehensive view places the person with cancer in a central position. The healthcare of the service is organized according to the needs of the patient: prevention, diagnosis, treatment, control of symptoms and short- and long-term follow-up. To this end, the Oncology Service has specialists in each of these areas and in various other healthcare services (hospitalization, day hospital, clinical trials unit, home care service and outpatient consultations).
