About me

Postdoctoral researcher at Albert Pol's lab (IDIBAPS) with a Beatriu de Pinós fellowship. During the PhD I specialized in Lipid droplets studying the early steps of their biogenesis in the endoplasmic reticulum, the inter-cellular differences in lipid accumulation and their mobilization upon nutrient starvation to interact to mitochondria to deliver fatty acids to use as an energy source. Then I moved to Phil Jones' group at the Sanger Institute where , during more than 6 years I studied how somatic mutations colonize epithelia and the environmental factors and interventions that regulate this process long before any cancer develops. There, we developed a novel 3D epithelial culture model that allows studying long-term processes such as the expansion of mutations in epithelia. Finally I mo
