The Clinic is a community hospital for its area of influence, Barcelona Esquerra, with a population of 540,000 inhabitants. At the same time, it is a highly complex tertiary hospital that develops lines of activity for patients from Catalonia, mainly from the Vallès Oriental and Osona areas and, in certain specific procedures for patients from other communities in Spain.
It can be accessed in various ways:
- For emergency care: The emergency services are avaiilable 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in one of the Hospital's headquarters:
- HQ Villarroel: general and highly complex emergencies.
- HQ Seu Plató: general emergencies.
- HQ Maternity ward: obstetric, gynecological and ophthalmological emergencies.
- For scheduled care: information about the appointment can be received by email or letter and can be consulted on the Meu Clínic website.
- Patients in the reference area: through a referral from the family doctor or specialist.
- Patients outside the reference area: The doctor will have to send a visit request. If the request is not accepted, a response saying so will be sent to the referring doctor; if it is accepted, a summons notice will be sent to the patient.
- Patients from other autonomous communities: the Cohesion Fund Information System is an information system that collects the requests of patients who, due to pathology, cannot be treated in the autonomous community due to lack of adequate means.

Foreign patients: if the country is a member of the European Union, through a referral from the family doctor. If not, it will be necessary to follow whatever international agreements are in force.
