Teaching and Training
The Nursing Department leads both an extensive teaching program and continuing education plans aimed at healthcare professionals in order to respond to their training and their development of skills derived from their progress in clinical activity.
The Clinic is a reference point for the training of nurses specializing in:
a) Mental Health Nursing
b) Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing
c) Family and Community Nursing
d) Geriatric nursing
Each year we participate in the Resident's Party with the specific guidance of a nursing resident and with the common transversal training of the reception process. The number of trainees in the Nursing Department for 2018 was 1,105, broken down as follows:
- 831 Pre-degree students.
- 577 Undergraduate students (+ 120 students from Higher Education Cycles + 112 students from Intermediate Education Cycles + 22 healthcare assistant students).
- 274 Postgraduate and Masters students.

Healthcare assistant
The Eixample School adapts to the specific requirements of each specialty. At the end of each year, the MSD award is given to the best Healthcare Assistant.
Training
The aim of the Training Plan is to reach the widest possible number of workers, to comply with the legal rules regarding mandatory training, to maintain and improve the technical skills of healthcare professionals and to collaborate in their development.
The scope includes all the workers of the Hospital Clínic attached to the Nursing Department.

Advanced courses
The Advanced Courses are training modules, aimed at professionals in Health Sciences, which respond to a syllabus defined by their directors and approved by the CAAD.

Training stays
The Hospital Clínic de Barcelona has an organizational structure based on institutes and centres, in which the different Services and, therefore, the different specialties are grouped. Each of these institutes/centres has a Teaching Coordinator, who is the one responsible for teaching and training activities.
- Letter of application indicating the period of time the applicant wishes to be in our Hospital, with contact details (personal and professional address, email, telephone and fax number)
- Official letter, on the center's stationery, from the applicant's head of service or manager of the health center where he or she workss, accepting and recommending the stay at our center during the accepted period.
- Curriculum Vitae summarized (maximum 4 pages) including photograph
- Photocopy of the graduate degree and specialist degree or certificate specifying the applicant's work activity, if the applicant is a specialist in training
- Photocopy of passport / ID
