After a brief tour of the facilities, the representatives of the different institutions, accompanied by the center’s medical team and directors from Hospital Clínic, held a meeting where Dr. Jaume Benavent, manager of GesClínic and CAPSE, gave a detailed presentation on the activity of the center. The aspects highlighted by Dr. Benavent included the main innovation projects on which the organization is currently working. After the presentation, both the Mayor of Barcelona and the Minister for Health stated their firm commitment to execute the project to expand the Les Corts Primary Care Center, which provides health care to 33,000 people.
The event was presided over by Marina Geli, the Minister for Health, and by Jordi Hereu, the Mayor of Barcelona. Also present were Dr. Raimon Belenes, the CEO of Hospital Clínic, Barcelona, Enric Frigola, manager of the Barcelona Health Care Region, together with representatives of the Provincial Government of Barcelona, the district councillor's office, management of Hospital Clínic, and the health care personnel of the center. Different innovation projects are being carried out at the Les Corts Primary Care Center in the areas of patient care, technology and research, including the GAPI (Incentive-Driven Professional Autonomous Management) project and the new nursing organization model.
The former project is aimed at autonomous management by professionals, who have the ability to organize their time with the objective of ensuring and improving the satisfaction of the patients and of the health care professionals. The latter project has seen nursing organized by departments so that it is better oriented toward the needs of the patients. During the event, Minister Geli praised these models, both based on proximity and efficacy to treat patients, as highlighted by Dr. Benavent.
