The Hospital Clínic Barcelona is ranked 59th in the world, and is the third best hospital in Spain, according to Newsweek’s 2024 edition of the World’s Best Hospitals.
The rankings are based on recommendations by medical professionals, patient survey results and key medical performance indicators. The results of the ranking, published by Newsweek magazine, and prepared in partnership with Statista, are based on an online survey of over 85,000 medical experts, who recommended hospitals both in their own country and others.
The scores in these surveys were based, above all, on the general level of satisfaction, but other metrics such as hygiene and patient/doctor ratio were also considered.
The classification of hospitals includes centres in 30 different countries, including: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, México, The Netherlands, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States. Moreover, Chile and Malaysia were added to the ranking for the first time.
