The document includes 98 research topics within the Social Challenge "Health, demographic change and wellbeing" raised in the Horizon 2020. The issues are classified into seven thematic areas related to this challenge. The Strategic Research Agenda in Health aims to:
- Identify and disseminate research priorities in Catalonia.
- Find parallelisms between the proposed topics and the Horizon 2020 Work Programmes.
- Volunteering as a tool for different European consortia to identify common lines of research and establish collaborations with Catalonia.
The Agenda is designed with dynamic tables of content and research topics. You can find it in www.connecteusalut.org.
On November 4 took place at the IDIBAPS the act "Strategy in the Horizon 2020 - Health", organized by the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) and Health Connect-EU Group, with support from the Catalan Government’s ACCIÓ and AGAUR. During the day the Strategic Health Research Agenda and the bases of the Social Challenge "Health, demographic change and wellbeing" were presented, with the participation of the Spanish representative at the European Union, Marta Gómez Quintanilla (CDTI). The aim of the conference was to help each investigator or participant to design a strategic positioning for the 2020 Horizon. The lecture room was crowded and the event was well received by attendees. The presentations that suggested first steps within the Horizon2020 are now available online.
Also during the months of October and November, IDIBAPS Internationalisation Unit participated in the CDTI’s Program INNVOLUCRA. This program allows a stay at the Spanish Office of Science and Technology in Brussels (SOST Office). There several meetings were held with members of the European Commission, during which the IDIBAPS and Health Connect-EU Group were presented. In each case a copy of the Strategic Research Agenda in Health was handed. The Project Officers, specifically the General Directorate for Health Research and Innovation, have welcomed the initiative and encouraged to continue working in this direction.
The Health Connect-EU Group wants to especially thank all IDIBAPS researchers who have proposed research topics to be included in the Strategic Health Research Agenda. It also wants to thank all the people within the institution who have contributed in obtaining the final document. Without this collaborative work, this initiative would not have been possible.
