The CRIS will allow researchers to export their resume in different formats (CVN, CVA, etc.) depending on their needs and the calls for funding they apply to, and entering only once the data. Moreover, this tool includes multiple fields, such as the ORCID identifier to use it as this unique record of researchers implements worldwide. This identifier enables linking research carried out by an author which is referenced in different information systems.
This institutional tool was created with the dual mission of 1) offer researchers a place to keep their resume and export it in multiple formats and 2) provide professional management from a single point of reference where you can view and analyze the data and knowledge that IDIBAPS has generated. Other biomedical research institutes as the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) and the Institute of Biomedical Research of Bellvitge (IDIBELL) are implementing the same tool at their respective centers.
The supplier responsible for developing the CRIS, iMARINA, is a consultant from Granada dedicated to design, implement and operate scientific information systems. iMARINA’s objective is to provide institutions with solutions that facilitate knowledge management in relation to their activity and research, in order to get tools to support researchers, as well as the strategic management of R + D + i by the research centers.
The session was led by Pastora Martinez, IDIBAPS manager, Marta Vidal, head of Knowledge Management at the Institute, and Jose Navarrete, director of iMARINA. Finally, on 11 November IDIBAPS was invited to explain how the CRIS selection was carried out at the euroCRIS Congress 2015 held in Barcelona, where more than a hundred experts gathered to discuss how to improve scientific information systems.
