The ceremony was presented by Monica Terribas and Quim Masferrer, the conducters of the latest edition of the Telethon, and was attended by the Minister of Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Boi Ruiz, the President of the Academy of Medical Sciences and Health of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, Àlvar Net, and president of the Catalan Broadcasting Corporation and the Board of TV3 Telethon Foundation, Brauli Duart.
The funds intended for research in heart diseases form the TV3 Theleton are a very important boost for the research in this field. The combined efforts got the December 14, 2014 are now transformed into the sum of resources required to develop the 43 projects selected taht will be conducted by research teams at the main institution of Catalonia.
The projects funded in this edition -22 singles and 21 coordinated between two or more research institutions-, are those that have been better rated among the 121 presented. Quality, methodology, scientific, health and social relevance, innovative value and viability of each project have been the factors that have determined the distribution of the funds raised in the last edition of the TV3 Theleton.
