The journal, whose first volume was published in May 2019, has an impact index of 8.3 (2022).
Both JHEP Reports and the Journal of Hepatology are official EASL publications. EASL, a medical association founded in 1966, is dedicated to pursuing excellence in liver research, the clinical practice of liver disorders and to providing training to all those interested in hepatology. As of 2023, EASL serves 5,300 members from 112 countries.
EASL’s annual congress took place in Vienna from June 21 to 24 this year. The event included the general assembly, at which the association’s members approved the appointment of Josep M. Llovet as the new editor-in-chief of JHEP Reports.
Josep M. Llovet leads the IDIBAPS Translational research in hepatic oncology group, which aims to identify new biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis, as well as therapeutic targets for liver cancer. The group recently helped to draw up new guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. Llovet is also ICREA research professor, professor of Medicine and Liver Oncology, and director of the Master's degree in translational medicine at the University of Barcelona. His research of excellence is appreciated at international level, as demonstrated by his regular appearance in the annual ranking published by Clarivate Analytics, which identifies the most influential experts, who are among the 1% most highly cited in their speciality.
