Fundació Clínic and IDIBAPS have joined forces for the energy-saving marathon promoted by the Catalan Energy Institute (ICAEN). This is an awareness-raising campaign about best practices in the use and consumption of energy in public buildings and facilities, the goal of which is to save energy.
Every week in February, actions will be proposed for saving energy in the workplace. At the end of the month, the energy savings achieved and the money this represents will be calculated. This money will be used to fund actions against energy poverty. The more workers who take part, the bigger the savings will be. Fundació Clínic-IDIBAPS spends approximately €600,000 a year on electricity.
In the week of 31/01, the actions will be linked to saving on lighting.
In the week of 07/02, actions aimed at savings on climate control will be added.
In the week of 14/02, actions aimed at water savings will be added.
In the week of 21/02, actions aimed at savings on emissions and mobility will be added.
Some actions of the marathon will be one-off events with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of saving energy and water. The goal, however, is to promote permanent changes that can be maintained throughout the year.
