Dr. Vieta is among the most cited researchers in the biomedical field in a list of the most important names in science published by the international agency Thomson Reuters. In 2014 he received the Lilly Neuroscience Clinical Research Award, granted by the International College of Neuropsychopharmacology (CINP) for his contribution, and also for the work of his research team, in the field of psychopharmacology. He has published over 500 original articles in international scientific journals, over 350 book chapters and 30 books on bipolar disorder.
Eduard Vieta, honorary doctorate from the University of Valencia
Dr. Eduard Vieta, head of the Psychiatry and Psychology department at Hospital Clínic and head of the IDIBAPS research group Biological bases of psychiatric disorders and nuclear psychiatry, will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Valencia (UV) as recently approved by the Governing Council of the university. Together with Dr. Vieta, Amelia Valcárcel, Paul Preston, Josep Fontana, Saskia Sassen, Josep Massot, Dale W. Jorgenson and Adriano Piattelli, will also be invested.
Dr. Vieta is also Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Barcelona and Director of the Bipolar Research Program of the Networked Biomedical Research Center on Mental Diseases (CIBERSAM). He has co-edited, together with Dr. Francesc Colom, the "Psychoeducation manual for bipolar disorder", which was published in Chinese in 2014.
