Dr. Ruben Fernandez-Santiago receives the first "Young Researchers Grant" from the MINECO given to IDIBAPS

Dr. Ruben Fernandez-Santiago,  researcher at the Neurodegenerative Diseases IDIBAPS research team, has received a "Young Researchers Grant" from the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO), endowed with 170,000 Euros, to develop the study entitled "The beginnings of Parkinson Disease: a study of early disease mechanisms in a humanized in-vitro model". This 3-year project aims to investigate early epigenetic alterations in dopaminergic neurons in people at high risk of Parkinson’s disease. This is the first time that an IDIBAPS researcher receives one of this grants, one of the four given in the neurosciences field in Spain.

The Young Researchers grants aim to fund projects led by young researchers who have a relevant scientific career.
