The Catalan Government and the Institució Catalana de Recerca i Estudis Avançats (ICREA), presented the list of 24 researchers from the Catalan research system awarded with ICREA Academia distinctions. Among them is Dr. Elías Campo, head of the IDIBAPS Human and experimental functional oncomorphology, Director of Research at Hospital Clínic of Barcelona and at the Fundació Clinic, who has also been recently announced as the new Catalan National Research Award winner. The ICREA Academia awards, which celebrate its V edition, recognize the research work of teaching staff in a Catalan public university while, at the same time, helps to retain research talent within the Catalan university system. The award, which includes a 50,000 euros grant, involves a preferent dedication to research during 5 years.
