Before the end of the year, the samples from the second round of patients of the project colorectal cancer in adolescents and young adults were processed. Germinal DNA was aliquoted according to the National Center for Genomic Analysis (CNAG) requirements and sent for whole-genome sequencing. At the end of January, we received the sequencing results and started the bioinformatic processing of the sequencing data, for its correct filtering and analysis.
At the same time, RNA from lymphocytes and tumoral DNA from paraffin-embedded blocks of tissue from patients of the second round were extracted. By mid-February, all samples were extracted and sent to CNAG for sequencing.
Should be noted that on the 31st of January and 1st of February patients and visitors from the ‘Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer’ for World Cancer Day (4th of February). The visitors were able to see our laboratory and the biobank facilities. We provided a summary of our line of investigation and an overview of our ongoing projects. The visitors were allowed to see under the microscope, different cancerous cell lines that we use for our experiments.
