In 2022 IDIBAPS renewed its HR Excellence in Research recognition for three more years. In addition to preparing for the evaluation committee audit, several improvement actions were carried out for the research community within the action plan of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4). Firstly, Career Sessions were implemented to promote the professional development of our researchers and promote a more dynamic environment among them. They are workshops that promote development of scientific career by providing “non-scientific” tools. During this year three workshops took place.
Toolbox IDIBAPS Talk Series sessions have continued, and three workshops took place, one of them focused on Open Science, taking advantage of the dissemination of the institution’s Open Access policy. A substantial improvement was also made within these cycles of talks: once finished, researchers or any other staff of the institution can meet with the speaker to discuss topics of more personal interest related to the session’s theme.
In Human Resources Department, specific training sessions have been conducted for our staff on OTM-R practices, which emphasize that a selection process should be open, transparent, and merit-based (Open, Transparent, Merit-based Recruitment). This approach is a pilar of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, ensuring that the most suitable candidate is hired for the job, thereby enhancing the appeal of a research career. Additionally, improvements in job stability have been achieved by offering new permanent positions within research groups. Together with the FCRB-IDIBAPS merger, this initiative has created 44 new job opportunities.
An Internationalization Committee was created with the goal of promoting international and interdisciplinary collaboration, starting with the planning of a new PhD program that will be implemented throughout 2023.
The Gender Equality Plan was also updated by the Gender Equality Committee of the FCRB-IDIBAPS.
