Reserach lines into Liver Transplants

The are different studies designed to improve the care provided for transplant patients:

• An evaluation of the alloimmune response that leads to organ transplant rejection. This will allow for better customisation of immunosuppressive therapies to suit each patient’s needs.
• Organ preservation system. Different organ preservation methods are being assessed to increase the number of viable units available for transplantation.
• A study of long-term complications associated with liver transplants. Transplant patient survival has increased significantly in recent years, this means the patients present other diseases that can be prevented or detected early on.
