Research lines about Twin-To-Twin Transfusion Syndrome

The main lines of research are focused on methods designed to mitigate the complications associated with surgery, such as reducing the neurological and cardiovascular sequelae in foetuses that survive foetoscopic laser surgery.

Other lines of research are investigating the ideal timing for the intervention. Accordingly, studies are currently being conducted to compare the expected outcome against the need for treatment in mild cases, i.e., in stage I TTTS.
