Research lines of Sexually Transmitted Infections

Reading time: 1 min

Current lines of research in the field of sexually transmitted infections are primarily focused on, in the case of the human papillomavirus (HPV), the treatment of high-grade lesions in HIV-infected men who have sex with men and the role of HPV infection in anal canal pathologies in solid-organ transplants recipients. Regarding lymphogranuloma venereum, the studies focus on the search for alternative treatments.

On the other hand, other studies insist in the prevalence of sexually transmitted infections among men who have sex with men under the effect of drugs, which is known as ChemSex. A practice that makes you lose the perception of danger and that precautions are not taken.
