Symptoms of the Allergy

Rhinitis. Nasal congestion (obstruction), watery mucus, nasal itching and/or sneeze sparing.
Conjunctivitis. Reddening and/or itchy eyes.
Oral Allergy Syndrome. Itching inside the mouth and throat (oropharyngeal cavity)
Asthma. Persistent dry cough, the feeling of breathlessness, whistles in the chest (wheezing).
Angioedema. Swelling of the face, eyelids, lips, or auricular pavilions (ears).
Urticaria. Generalised or localised hives.
Erythema. Generalised or localised reddening and itching.
Gastrointestinal symptoms. Nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain.
Anaphylaxis (breathlessness and/or dizziness that present in acute form and are usually accompanied by itching of the skin, either generalised or localised in the palms of the hands and/or on the soles of the feet and/or in the armpits, and occasionally by nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain with or without diarrhoea).
Death due to anaphylactic shock.
When to go to the Emergency Department?
If there are symptoms compatible with anaphylaxis. In other words, the appearance of sudden itching of the skin (either generalized or located in the palm of the hands and/or soles of the feet and/or armpits) or hives (hives), accompanied by choking or intense cough and/or dizziness and/or nausea/vomiting with abdominal pain with or without diarrhea. the patient must go immediately to the nearest Emergency Department.
If there is an acute generalized skin rash, or an episode of angioedema (swelling) in the facial area, or in limbs with functional limitation, the patient must go to the Emergency Department.
