Toolbox IDIBAPS Talk Series: Publishing with The Lancet Family of Journals

On Thursday, February 6th, at 3 p.m., will take place the session Publishing with The Lancet Family of Journals, led by Pooja Jha, Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet Regional Health – Europe and Ivana Nedić, Senior Editor of The Lancet Regional Health – Europe.
Pooja Jha is the founding Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet Regional Health – Europe, based in Munich, Germany. She holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine and has conducted postdoctoral research in genetics and metabolic diseases. Pooja previously worked at Nature Research, contributing to the launch of Nature Metabolism. She has authored 20 research articles and is co-Chair of The Lancet Group’s GRacE initiative, advocating for racial equity. Her interests include clinical research, global health, and the interplay of philosophy, politics, and economics.
Ivana Nedić is a Senior Editor at The Lancet Regional Health – Europe, based in Barcelona, Spain. She holds a BSc in Genetics and an MSc in Global Health. Before joining The Lancet in 2024, Ivana worked at Frontiers in Public Health and collaborated with the Barcelona Institute of Global Health on maternal vaccine research. Passionate about maternal, child, and adolescent health, she is dedicated to advancing global health equity and addressing social determinants of health.
In this session, the editors will provide an overview of The Lancet family of journals and insights into the editorial process, including how manuscripts are assessed, transferred, and peer-reviewed. They will discuss the decision-making criteria and share some practical tips for authors seeking to publish with The Lancet journals. The session will also include information about The Lancet Regional Health – Europe and its special projects, such as mission driven series and Commissions.
This activity is open to participants both within and outside the institution. It is a hybrid event; allowing for in-person participation at the Esteve Auditorium of Esther Koplowitz Centre or virtual attendance via Zoom. To join digitally, advance registration is required to receive a personal connection link. Registration will remain open until the day of the event.
After the session, members of the IDIBAPS community can join a meeting with the experts upon prior request.
