Endometriosis is one of the most common benign gynaecological diseases. It affects 10% of women of childbearing age; between 1 and 2 million women in Spain and almost 176 million worldwide. It is one of the main causes of pelvic pain and reproductive problems in women.
The over 1,700 people who took part in the festival, organized in collaboration with Premià de Dalt Town Council, were able to enjoy live music by Ramon Mirabet, and Delafé y las Flores Azules. There was also a children’s area, food trucks and merchandise stalls.
In addition to activities for young and old throughout the day, Dr. Francesc Carmona, head of the Gynaecology Service at the Hospital Clínic and leader of endometriosis research at the Hospital Clínic-IDIBAPS, gave a talk on endometriosis during which he spoke about the symptoms, how it is diagnosed and how it is treated.
This year, Endofest was also possible thanks to the participation of over 50 volunteers who did their bit to support the organization during the event.
