Dr. Sisó is a Primary Care specialist, doctor in medicine, professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Barcelona (UB) and Primary Care MIR’s tutor. He develops his healthcare activity in the Primary Care Center of Les Corts in Barcelona, and coordinates the Research Support Unit of the CAPSBE. He is researcher at the IDIBAPS Transverse group for research in primary care, in which a dual model for research production is applied: on one hand scientific production is stimulated with projects led from primary care focused on the patient; and, on the other hand, the group collaborates with other research entities or groups in projects where leadership is in the hospital. "This duality has allowed us to increase our scientific production and to add value in other groups’ projects, making real the concept of transverse research" explains Dr. Sisó.
He is author or coauthor of 60 articles in scientific journals and the main lines of his research are focused in the approach to rheumatic and autoimmune diseases in primary care; research into risk factors and cardiovascular diseases; technology assessment and management of health services; and tackling chronicity, multimorbidity, complexity and terminality.
